The Board

Richard Ntim is the Chief Internal Auditor at Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo). As the Head of the Audit Department, his responsibilities include coordination of Enterprise Risk Management activities. He has been in his current position since December 2013. Prior to his current position, he worked with the Internal Revenue Service (now Ghana Revenue Authority) as Assistant Inspector of Taxes -Internal Audit (1995-1998). He joined the Volta River Authority in July 1998 as Financial Auditor and rose through the ranks to Manager, Financial Audits. He was transferred to GRIDCo in March 2011 as Manager, Audits. Richard has over 24 years’ working experience in Internal Auditing and Risk Management.

Richard is a past Council member of the Institute of Internal Auditors Ghana (IIA Ghana). He served as the first Honorary Secretary, Vice President, President and Immediate Past President of IIA Ghana (2000-2019). He is also a Past Vice President of African Federation of Institutes of Internal Auditors (AFIIA) responsible for West Africa (2013-2017).

Richard has played various roles in promoting the growth of the Internal Audit profession in Africa. He has facilitated workshops on Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and assisted a number of public sector institutions in Ghana to establish their ERM systems. He previously served as a member of Audit Report Implementation Committee of four institutions and currently chairs the Audit Committees of four public sector institutions in Ghana. Richard has the passion for sharing knowledge and experiences.

He has spoken on topics relating to governance, risk management and control at internal audit as well as Commonwealth conferences and workshops in Ghana, the Commonwealth Caribbean and various African countries. Richard holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (Accounting Option) and an Executive Master of Business Administration (Finance) degree both from the University of Ghana. He is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors Ghana and Global. He is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana), Institute of Directors Ghana and Ghana Integrity Initiative, the Local Chapter of Transparency International.
