HENRY KWASI PREMPEH-ECK
Henry Kwasi Prempeh-Eck is a lawyer, a lecturer, a professional administrator, and a consummate governance and anti-corruption advocate. He is a Partner at Lex-Eck Consult, a legal consultancy firm in Accra. Mr. Prempeh-Eck is the Immediate Past Director of Legal Education at the Ghana School of Law, a position he held for ten years, making him the longest-serving Director of the School. Before his appointment in September 2012, he was a Senior Lecturer at the Ghana School of Law, where he taught Practical Conveyancing, Land Drafting of Deeds, and Statutes since October 1998. Prior to joining the Ghana School of Law, he worked at Republic Bank as Head of the Recoveries Department from 1994 to 1999.
Mr. Prempeh-Eck is a member of the Ghana Bar Association and a founding member of the Ghana Association of Certified Mediators and Arbitrators (GHACMA). Due to his in-depth knowledge and capacity, he serves as a resource person at the Judicial Training Institute and the National Banking College, both in Ghana.
Other positions he has held include member of the Board of the Legal Aid Commission and long-serving Board member of PIE Ghana, an affiliate of Progress in Education, a charitable organization. For the past twenty-four years, this organization has raised thousands of dollars in funds and purchased lab equipment, computers, printers, etc., which have been distributed to a number of Senior High Schools and tertiary institutions in the country. He is also a member of the Board of Transparency International Ghana, an affiliate of Transparency International.
Mr. Prempeh-Eck attended Mfantsipim School, Cape Coast, and the University of Ghana Faculty of Law, Legon, and then the Ghana School of Law, where he was called to the Ghana Bar in October 1988. He also holds a Master of Laws degree from Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario, Canada, and many notable certificates from reputable institutions across the globe.
He is married with two children.
