Civil Society Orientation Meeting on the Open Government Partnership
On Thursday, June 20th, 2024, the Ghana Integrity Initiative hosted a Civil Society Orientation Meeting on the Open Government Partnership (OGP) at the GII Conference Room. The event brought together 56 participants, both online via Zoom and in-person, to discuss Ghana’s Action Plan 2024-2028 (NAP 5).
Notable guests included Mr. Mukelani Dimba (Former OGP Global Chair), Mr. Tarik Nesh-Nash (Senior Regional Coordinator for Africa and the Middle East), and Thelma Ohene-Asiamah (Director of PSRS and Country Point of Contact for OGP). The meeting started with welcome remarks from Finance Manager Benedict Doh, followed by insightful presentations and extensive discussions on the OGP process in Ghana.
Participants agreed to create a WhatsApp group to share the OGP NAP document and enhance public sensitization efforts. The event underscored the importance of transparency and the collective effort needed to drive positive change. #GII #TransparencyMatters
